Amelia Moore’s ‘he’s still just not that into you!’ amplifies emotions of falling in and out of love

On April 29, 2025, °1824 held a press conference with Georgia-born pop singer-songwriter Amelia Moore, whose personality, vocals, and brand are infectious. And with her upcoming EP, he’s still just not that into you!, set to release on May 9th, no doubt, fans will be captivated by her unapologetic world. Moore gave us some insight on what to expect with these new tracks as well as what’s next for her career.

After being recently signed to Republic Records, which is known for representing artists like Ariana Grande and Lorde, Moore has the freedom to create from her heart. On March 20th, she released her first single of the year, “fuck, marry, kill” off the EP. The rest of the tracklist can be deciphered from her Instagram teaser videos. For me, one of the best things an artist can do is leave a little trail of breadcrumbs for you to follow as the release date gets closer. That is exactly what Moore has done.

The tracklist includes “He’s just not that into you,” “Spelling Bee ft. Teezo Touchdown,” “fuck, marry, kill,” “That’s all they really want,” “Underwater,” “See through it,” and “Emily. Moore is ready for these songs to be out in the world. She said, “Hopefully a good response from the girls,” regarding its release.

This EP is part two of her previous EP, he’s just not that into you! which was released in July of 2024. Moore is keeping this second part of her world completely cohesive and complementary of one another, down to the cover art aspects, her long orange hair, handwriting, and fruit stickers seen on her socials.

This next chapter was all about Moore exploring her inner feelings. She said, “I just had to write to get it off my chest.” Her undeniable ability to write lyrics that not only resonate with her fans but also mix with that classic Pop and R&B style is what makes her so special. She explained that she knows she’s created something that sticks when she can’t get it out of her head or when her friends can’t get enough.

Moore admitted to getting her song concepts from obvious personal experiences, but also television shows like How I Met Your Mother and Sex and The City. Who doesn’t love a crossover?

Moore said she’s most excited to see what people think of “That’s all they really want,” which is a little nostalgic nod to Cyndi Lauper’s 80s hit “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Only Moore’s version is a take on the female’s perspective of wanting more respect in relationships.

She said this track was the most difficult for her to perfect because she wanted it to have that sensitive emotional feel and really resonate with the listener. In the mini teaser video of the track on Instagram, a clip of the song is played in the background. She sings, “He’s holding your face/He’s kissing your neck/He’s saying ‘I love you’ while you’re having sex/But he’ll say he was drunk/Cuz’ boys just wanna have fun.”

It’s such an original take on not only the classic song but the feeling of being at a loss in the relationship and remembering your own worth.

Moore also surprised us by giving us an exclusive listen of track number two, “Spelling Bee ft. Teezo Touchdown.” The song is one Moore wrote with Julia Michaels, who not only has her own laundry list of hits but has written songs with and for other artists. Those include “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Dive” by Ed Sheeran, and “Sports Car” by Tate McRae.

This provocative song is about being scared to say what you actually want to say, hence having to “spell” it out. Moore’s vocals on the track are ethereal and otherworldly as she sings, “Babe, maybe you can write it down/Uh, okay/F-U-C-K me in the B-E-D of the GMC/Ooh, baby.” She wanted to capture the feeling so crazy about someone that you “don’t know what to do with yourself.”

As if Moore couldn’t make it spicy enough, she also added hidden bed squeaks into the production. It’s definitely a song that’ll turn some heads, I mean ears, but it’s the type of song that could go viral in an instant.

Throughout the creation of both of these albums, Moore has learned not to take herself too seriously in the studio. She said she’s learned a lot about herself as a person and an artist. She said, “I’m stubborn, I am a stubborn, stubborn girl,” when it comes to creativity. It’s about taking all of the ups and downs and challenges and integrating them into her work. “I’m a lot stronger than I thought I was,” Moore said. It’s known that the music industry is not for the weak, but Moore is handling herself with grace, style, and confidence.

Even in times when she was faced with a creative rut and felt worn out, she had the support of all the people behind her. She said something so beautifully about being in a creative rut: “I’m not living enough life to get inspire from,” when that happens.

For an artist, you need to be living life to the fullest and having those experiences to draw inspiration from. Moore staying grounded in who she is as an artist allows her to do that. She’s able to draw from the other female icons in the industry like Charli XCX, Doechii, and Sabrina Carpenter, who inspire her to keep channeling her inner diva.

Moore is having several “Mixtape Release Shows” around the world, including New York City, California, Germany, and the United Kingdom, where fans can listen to the project with her. She will also be at Outside Lands Festival in August, performing alongside Tyler, The Creator, Gracie Abrams, Wallows, and Hozier. Be on the lookout for her amazing performances as well as music release dates.

I’ll leave you with Moore’s long-term dream for her musical future. She said, “My big, big major career goal from ten years from now is to play the Super Bowl.” Here’s to hoping we’ll see this pop girl in a stadium one day performing her growing discography!
